The endangered animal I chose was the California Sea Otter. They live in oceans and marshes and eat fish, frogs, crayfish, turtles, insects, and some small mammals. Their predators are bobcats, coyotes, and other large mammals. They are endangered for many reasons but the main ones are habitat destruction, hunting, and lack of food. There are only about 3000 of them left. Some ways you can help are by recycling used oils, cutting down consumption of oil and oil based products, use transportation alternatives, and be careful with household cleaners and pet waste since they're pollutants. To make this otter I used all 7 elements of art. I used shapes and lines for to make the outlines. Color was used to make depth and value in the water and fur. Form and texture were used on things like the nose and ears to make it look less flat. Negative space is the water and the parts of fur without shadows, taken space is the rest. I'm very proud of my work and I think I did a pretty good job for my skill level.
